Harvest Moon 64 Cheats n Tips

I love the Harvest Moon 64 game, don't you? Here I have put some great cheats and tips that I have found out myself and found on the internet.

Faster dialog - just press the A or B button.

Feed your dog - just put some food in his dish. You could use something cheap like a berry or edible grass. Just take out the food item, stand next to his dish and press A button.

Puppies - Sometime in the game, Taro (the potion shop guy's dog) will have puppies. You know your dog got her pregnant because they look like your dog.

Where is the beach? - I had trouble finding this too. Where you enter the Green ranch, there is a path to the right. Go down it and you've found the beach.

Upgraded tool in a single night - Go to the bar. Use a tool (hoe, sickle, hammer, water can) on nothing. Use it a lot of times until they are upgraded. Unless you take like 20 drinks of water each time you upgrade, you will get sick the following day. So be patient and careful.

Get to Moon Mountain without a bridge - Climb the big tree behind the builders house. To jump off just go to the edge of the cliff and press A.

Forest spirite - Take a home grown vegetable. Go to the forest left of the builders house in the mountains, stand on the bridge, and throw a vegetable into the pond. It has to be between the hours of 9 am and 3 pm, or else it won't work. You can't press B button en route. A sprite might appear and ask what you wish for; love, strength or weather. It might not work the first time so keep on trying.

Gold milk - Have a big cow, and have it win the cow contest. The milk should be gold.

Free milk - To get milk in a jar from your cow, just use the jar on your cow. You can drink the milk.

Free wine - use an empty jar on one of the big wine machines in the shack in the vineyard. Press B to get the wine, and B again to drink it. This helps to build up resistance so you won't conk out so fast on New year's.

Free eggs - just put your mature chickens out in the pasture. They'll find their own food and still lay eggs. But you have to keep them in the coop on raining days or when there's a typhoon, and you have to keep them in in winter. Or you could put one of your hens on the roof (if you have a staircase) and they'll lay eggs there. Just that your wife won't pick them up so you'll have to make time for it. And you also have to put them in when there's bad weather or it's winter.

Marble - Plant one batch of moon drop flowers and one batch of pink cat mint. (You can buy pink cat mint at the flower festival.) When they are grown, a little boy, Stu(the one with the black hair) will come to your farm and tell you to grow more. Plant 4 more batches of moon drop and 4 more of pink cat mint. When they are grown he will come again and ask you to trade some flowers for his marbles. Say yes and you will have some marbles. 9when at the flower festival, make sure you buy 5 packs of pink cat mint.)

Music box - stand beside the dog house, facing your field and  between the dog house and the shipping bin. Walk to your field. You will have to walk around your shipping box. Where the dog house, shipping bin and tree all meet in the field, hit the dirt with your hoe 10 times. There should be a broken down music box. Take it to Rick and he will fix it for you. You should give it to the girl of your choice because it plays a love song. This only works in the summer.

Blue vase - find a blue rock in the mine. Give it to Saibara to get a blue vase.

Get the girlies to like you! - Different girls like different things.

  • Ann - Ann likes corn and wool the best. Don't let your animals die! But to get her heart from white to pink/red in 15 minutes, take a wild animal (ie fox or bunny) and show it to her over and over again. Gradually her heart will turn from white to blue to green to yellow and then pink/red.
  • Karen - Karen likes wild berries and tomatoes. (But don't give her too many tomatoes or she will tire of them.) The lazy way is to get your dog and show it to her 250 times. This takes about 15 minutes. Her heart will turn from white to pink very shortly if you do that.
  • Elli - Elli likes milk and eggs. She also likes it if you give her fish.
  • Popuri - Popuri loves flowers, such as moon drop and pink cat mint. You should plant the blue mist flower. (But you have to water it everyday.) She also loves strawberries.
  • Maria - She really likes cabbages. You could also show her bugs (It's the same as showing the dog to Karen or animals to Ann). But don't show her your dog.

Marrying someone - In order to marry, you first must have a kitchen and a blue feather(That costs 980g), and for the girl you wish to marry to have a pink heart. Then you just press B while your feather is active in front of the girl you want to marry. That is how you propose. You will be married the following Sunday.

Other people getting married - You are not the only person that can get married and have kids.

  • Ann and Cliff - First you have to make sure you're nice to Cliff so he doesn't leave. Don't date Ann. If she has a heart higher than yellow by the first winter he will probably leave. If you are nice to him sometime he will come and invite you to his wedding. They always get into arguments. Sometimes Cliff will have a black eye. Their baby will wear a frog suit.
  • Popuri and Gray - Be real nice to Gray. Talk to him all the time and give him eggs and show him your dog and stuff. Don't date Popuri! When you go into the Green ranch and see them talking after the flowers are grown one night, they will be married the following Sunday. Their baby will be named mint and will have a pink bunny suit.
  • Maria and Harris - Befriend Harris. Give him potatoes and talk to him a lot. Soon he will be talking about her alot. First he'll be saying that he wants to see her more, then he'll say stuff like he should tell her his true feelings. Eventually you'll see little mini-scenes where they're talking and Harris saves her from an evil salesman. Then he'll talk about how happy he is to see her and then they'll get married soon. The baby wears a panda suit.
  • Kai and Karen - First of all you have to be nice to both Karen and Kai so that they don't leave. Give Karen all the things she liked mentioned above. Give Kai berries and talk to him. You might have to save the vineyard to get them to pair up. Karen's baby is in a pikachu suit.
  • Elli and the bakery guy(sorry I don't know his name!) - Just talk to bakery guy, give him eggs and stuff... soon he will start talking about Elli and eventually they'll get married... the baby is in a chicken suit.

Uses for tools - There are many helpful tools.

  • Hoe - used to dig up the soil so you can plant seeds.
  • sickle - the pointy sharp thing, used to cut grass and weeds.
  • hammer - used to break up things like rocks.
  • watering can - used to water your plants. (fill it up from the pond next to the big tree.)
